December 2019
Dear Friends and family,
Dear Friends and family,
We hope you are
well! May this Advent season 2019 be a special time for you, listening to the Spirit
and spending time with Jesus each day.
We are writing you with
a request for prayer, for intercession, and for engaging in spiritual warfare.
The Into Integrity FAST resumes (Part Two) from 6-26 December. This is a time
of solemn, focused prayer and fasting. The purpose is to call attention
to and confront the lack of disclosures by specific
organizations/leaders/people affected by the international Nordic Capital
Investment KB fraud (NCI) as well as the related, wrongful dismissals directed
at us.
Kelly will be fasting all 20 days and Michèle will fast a few days such as on International Anti-Corruption Day (9 December) and International Human Solidarity Day (20 December). Join with us and others too!
For more information
please see the Into Integrity
weblog and the PETRA People weblog.
You can also listen to the second podcast that Kelly did in June during Part
One on Reasons
for the FAST.
Suggestions for Prayer
Have a look at the core
quotes below (page two) that we have used to call for integrity and confront corruption
in the NCI fraud. You can use the content to stir up your prayers for us and
for the people, leaders, and organizations affected by the NCI fraud and who
can and need to help. The quotes could also be used to stir up prayer for other
specific areas of interest and burden to you regarding integrity and
corruption.
You can also join in
prayer as you listen to the third podcast from June: Praying
Good for People and Naming Names for Good. And finally, perhaps you may want
to save this message in your email inbox and/or print it and put in a conspicuous
place as a reminder for prayer. Feel free to contact us to share prayers and input!
Many thanks and warm
greetings in our Lord,
Kelly and Michèle MCAresources@gmail.com

Some Quotes to Stimulate Prayer
Into Integrity FAST (6-26 December 2019)
Into Integrity FAST (6-26 December 2019)
“These are the things you are to do: Speak the
truth to each other and render true and sound judgment in your
courts; do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear
falsely. I hate all this,” declares the Lord… Therefore love
truth and peace.” (Zechariah 8:16,19, NASB)
“The purpose of
the Into Integrity FAST is to call attention to--and confront--the
lack of disclosures by specific organizations/leaders/people affected by the
international Nordic Capital Investment KB fraud (NCI) as well as the related,
wrongful dismissals directed at Kelly and Michèle. Join with us in FAsting for
genuine contrition and STriking for resolute
action within the Church Mission Community (CMC).” (K & M)
“The only thing necessary for corruption to flourish is to do
nothing about it; or to do some non-efficacious and non-resolute ‘thing’ and
then move on, often with our consciences placated and our livelihoods
protected.” (Loving Truth
and Peace: A Case Study in Family Resilience in Dealing with Mission/Aid
Corruption, K & M)
“Corruption begets
more corruption and fosters a corrosive culture of impunity.” Every year $1
trillion is paid in bribes while an estimated $2.6 trillion are stolen annually
through corruption – a sum equivalent to more than 5 per cent of the global
GDP…. “I call on leaders everywhere to listen, to nurture a culture of
integrity and to empower citizens to do their part at the grass roots.” (quotes
from UN
Secretary General Antonio Guterres and International
Anti-corruption Day)
"Bullies and predators prey on the defenseless. They
count on victims being unable to protect themselves. More important, they count
on everyone else being too afraid to confront them. I hate injustice, but I
hate silence and apathy in the face of injustice even more. Far too often,
bullies’ belief that no one will challenge them is both well-founded and
devastating for the people they target. But it doesn’t have to be this
way." (Rachel Denhollander, 2019; quoted in Principles
for Fighting Corruption, M & K)
“Silence in the face
of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to
speak. Not to act is to act.”….. “Cheap
grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of
forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline,
Communion without confession...Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace
without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.” (Dietrich
Bonhoeffer quotes)
“YWAM and other groups are only being challenged now because
of the integrity and perseverance of the O’Donnells and those who have stood by
them in these last difficult years. The need for accountability and
restitution in varying degrees clearly lies with YWAM, Le Rucher, WEA-MC, MC-E
and involved churches [Youth With A Mission, Le Rucher, World Evangelical
Alliance-Mission Commission, Member Care Europe...]. In authoritarian settings
nearly everyone is too vulnerable to stand up to the power of the leaders—staff
have limited rights and limited resources on which to rely. The time has
come for the truth to be known and justice to prevail, without which there can
be no proper basis for organizational health and reconciliation. For
everyone involved it is not too late to act with integrity and seek redress,
both publicly and privately.” (Rand Guebert, conclusion, Integrated Executive Summary)
Don’t be
intimidated. Eventually everything is going to be out in the open, and everyone
will know how things really are. So don’t hesitate to go public now. Don’t be
bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to
your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire
life—body and soul—in his hands." (Matthew
10: 26-28, The Message)
